Ed Goddard

ED GODDARD is a rising talent in distance running, targeting a sub 2:10 marathon in order to become only the 6th Australian man in history to break the barrier.  The former 10,000m Australian National Champion debuted at the marathon distance in 2021, turning in a 2:15:10 at the Melbourne Marathon Festival. Since, Ed has consistently earned podium finishes at events including the September 2022 NSW Half Marathon where Ed shattered a twenty year old course record to take the win in 1:03:26.  Throughout 2022, Ed completed 4 marathons, twice achieving a PB, and finishing off the race season at the California International Marathon in 2:13:36.  Ed has demonstrated exceptional work ethic, maturity, and mental fortitude, not to mention the ability to continually generate dynamic race results.   His witty humor, passion for rock ‘n roll, and flamboyant style – Ed is known in his hometown as the “Mosman Mullet”  -  have made Ed one of Sydney’s most visible marathoners.  2023 is sure to reveal a breakthrough performance as Ed begins the focus on Olympic Team qualification for Paris 2024.
