Crowie Partners with PledgeIt

Published April 13th, 2020 by Humaninterestadmin

5x Ironman and 70.3 World Champion Craig 'Crowie' Alexander agreed with US based PledgeIt.org to put up a few of his unique, personal items for their fundraising platform, specifically alongside an organization focused on the Covid19 crisis.

You can see Alexander's PledgeIt page here:  https://pledgeit.org/crowie-relief  - where fans can win a one-of-a-kind Ironman Hawaii TT helmet, designed during the 2012 season.

Back in the day, Crowie partnered with RoadID as a spokesman for their safety ID products.  Part of the campaign included creating an annual custom painted TT Helmet for the World Championships (Ironman and 70.3).

Some years we used the same design for both races, other years Craig wore a different design (and sometimes different helmets) at 70.3 WC and Kona.  All of the helmet paint jobs were amazing - we probably did 8 in total over the years.

The PledgeIt.org/Crowie-Relief 2012 TT helmet design focused on a Kona specific theme, with an emphasis on the Hawaiian art style forming the 'Crow' graphic on the side and the lava field white stone (a common Kona'esq practice along roadways) spelling of "Crowie" along the top of the helmet.   Road ID is of course well represented on the helmet, as is Specialized, Crowie's bike partner at that time.    In addition to the TT Helmet, Craig is also including a signed copy of his book, As The Crow Flies.

* note we have two different helmets with the same design shown below in the photos
